SPORT:Liverpool must secure top-four finish to keep Suarez

Luis Suarez's stunning solo destruction of Norwich City last night proved once more his calibre as one of the world's very best players.
The fact that such a player isn't able to display such talent on the biggest stage in club football, the Champions League, shows that qualification for next year's competition is of paramount importance to Liverpool.

The Reds have made a fine start to the season under Brendan Rodgers, currently sitting in the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot.
With speculation emerging that Real Madrid have made Suarez their number one transfer target, Liverpool face a fight to keep the current jewel in the Anfield crown. When the bright lights of the Bernabeu and Real Madrid come calling, as proved with Gareth Bale last summer, they almost always get their man. That's not to say that Suarez departing for Spain is a foregone conclusion, far from it in fact.
At Liverpool he has a home, a crowd that loves him and a club that has supported him through numerous indiscretions.
Through controversies and media storms he has created he has been backed repeatedly, by managers, by owners and by team-mates. Suarez is back playing with a smile on his face, lapping up the adulation thrown his way from the adoring Kop.
Suarez himself has stated that he "feels at home" and is enjoying his football in "the best league in the world". This summer, however, his head was turned.
The advances of an Arsenal side looking for a return to relevancy amongst the English elite was enough for Suarez to declare that he "deserved" a chance to play Champions League football.
With the ability the diminutive Uruguayan possesses, he most certainly does. A January transfer would seem unlikely, Suarez unlikely to depart an ever improving Liverpool team with realistic Champions League aspirations, unlikely to uproot and unsettle himself and his family, this after all is World Cup year.
Over the next few months time will tell whether arguably the Premier League's most talented footballer will still be here next season. Will Liverpool be back amongst the big time? Or will their star man be lining up in a fearsome front line with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale having departed to become the next 'Galactico' at Madrid?
With Suarez in their side, Liverpool fans will be confident it can be the former.
