SPORT:Walcott has had to sit out the last few weeks

Theo Walcott has handed Arsenal fans a surprise boost, by declaring that he will be available to play in their next match against Southampton.

The Metro reports that even though the speedy winger wasn't expected to return until at least December he is now back training with the first-team, and will be able to make his return against his former club.
The England star has been sidelined with an abdominal injury since September and manager Arsene Wenger even stated the situation had been made more difficult by the fact that the route of the problem remained a mystery.
However the surprising news of his imminent return is likely to come as something of a relief for the French coach, as he has seen his side suffer greatly from the ravages of injury this year.
A number of key players are carrying niggles at the mid-way point of the international break, and the side that takes to the field in what is a crucial clash against Southampton is likely to be slightly light on the ground in terms of regular first-team starters.
Lukas Podolski is also said to be nearing his return from injury, but for now Wenger will have to be content with Walcott's return.
