Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has revealed that he is ready to sit down with the club's hierarchy in a bid to extend his current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

David Beckham has faith David Moyes is the right man to lead Manchester United despite struggling during the early days of his tenure.

There was fire outbreak at the Alarere residence of a high chief in Olubadan Council of Oyo State, Senator Lekan Balogun. The incident happened Tuesday evening.

A Secret Service agent made contact with D.C. police and told them he happened to be around when the victim told the cop Chris never struck him. The agent says he absolutely heard the victim’s admission to the cop that Chris never struck him.
This is doubly helpful for Chris. In addition to the fact that a Secret Service agent can testify on Chris‘ behalf, the testimony could destroy the credibility of the alleged victim.
So not only could this cause prosecutors to drop the misdemeanor assault case, it could save him from the more serious probation revocation in the Rihanna case — and remember, if the judge revokes Brown‘s probation, he could go to prison for 4 years.

Former Portugal international Paulo Futre has accused Fifa president Sepp Blatter of hating Cristiano Ronaldo following his comments regarding the Real Madrid star.


Blatter poked fun at the 28-year-old during a debate at the Oxford Union, while revealing that he preferred Lionel Messi to the Portuguese.

The remarks prompted a letter from Real Madrid to Fifa demanding an apology from the 77-year-old, while Ronaldo insinuated that the Swiss was guilty of institutional favouritism towards Messi and Barcelona - with Futre offering his backing to his compatriot.

"There are no words for what Sepp Blatter said about Cristiano," the 47-year-old told Marca.

"I'm angry. Cristiano is not just a wonderful footballer who deserves respect, he is also a great man. A total lack of respect has been shown."

Futre cites Blatter's supposed disliking for Ronaldo as the reason he has not won more individual accolades in his career, and is concerned Portugal's World Cup qualification chances could also be hampered by the Swiss.

"The Ballon d'Or is a farce," he added.

"I'm worried, in addition, that Portugal could be unfairly knocked out of the play-offs for the World Cup, such is Blatter's hatred towards Ronaldo.

"Blatter should resign at once. You should not be able to attack one of the symbols of the game and get away with it."

Kolo Toure is keen to prove Arsene Wenger wrong when Liverpool meet Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

The centre-back spent seven years in north London - winning the Premier League once and FA Cup twice - before being sold to Manchester City for £15 million.

Toure has since joined Liverpool and is gunning for the win to leapfrog table-topping Arsenal, but admits he owes Wenger a debt for guiding him during the earlier stages of his career.

Cristiano Ronaldo believes Fifa favouritism for Barcelona and Lionel Messi is undermining his legacy at Real Madrid and fears he will not win the Ballon d'Or again while Sepp Blatter remains in charge of football's governing body.

Both the Blancos and Ronaldo responded furiously on Tuesday at quotes made by Blatter on Friday in which the Fifa chief had expressed a preference for Messi and made fun of the Portuguese and, although the Swiss moved to apologise and play down the controversy, the player feels the remarks are indicative of institutional bias.

Asked about Messi and Ronaldo by students at an Oxford University debate on Friday, Blatter said: "One spends more at the hairdresser’s than the other, but I can’t say who is better. I like them both, but I prefer Messi."

Madrid contacted Blatter to express their "repulse" at the 77-year-old's stance, while coach Carlo Ancelotti also defended his player on Tuesday. "I know that our president has sent a letter to Fifa. This is a lack of respect towards a player who is very serious and very professional. I agree with the president," the Italian said.

CESC SHINES AS BARCA "INVERT TRIANGLE"

The changes continue at Barcelona. On Tuesday night, Gerardo Martino's men won 3-0 at Celta Vigo, thanks largely to an inspired performance by Cesc Fabregas. Cesc's parried shot led to the first goal for Alexis Sanchez and the former Arsenal captain was unlucky not to be given the second as his shot from distance hit the crossbar and rebounded in off goalkeeper Yoel. He later did net the third. The 26-year-old, frustrated in the Clasico on Saturday as a false nine, was much more effective as the most advanced of Barca's three midfielders - ahead of a double pivot formed by Sergio Busquets and Alex Song. Ronaldo responded angrily to the Swiss on Twitter and Facebook, posting a video of the Fifa chief making fun of him. "This video shows the respect and consideration that Fifa has for me, my club and my country. Much is explained now. I wish Mr. Blatter health and a long life, with the certainty that he'll continue to witness the successes of his favourite teams and players."

Blatter later said sorry. "I apologise if you were upset by my light-hearted answer at a private event on Friday," he wrote to Ronaldo on Twitter. And the Fifa boss also sent an open letter to Madrid, claiming he thought that Messi and Cristiano were on the same level.

However, as far as player and club are concerned, the damage is done because the Swiss had already revealed his preferred player: Messi. "Leo's a good lad, every mother or father would like to have him at home," Blatter has said of the Argentine. And of Ronaldo, he had added: "The other one is a commander on the field of play."

Cristiano was upset last season at what he perceived as a lack of support from the Madrid hierarchy and is happy his club have leapt to his defence this time around. Nevertheless, he feels frustrated at what he sees as bias towards both Barcelona and Messi as the Argentine looks to win a fifth Ballon d'Or in succession next January.

Both players were nominated in the 23-man shortlist announced on Tuesday, along with fellow favourite Franck Ribery, but Ronaldo is already convinced he will not claim the prize and doubts he will win it again while Blatter is in charge.

"Those [Blatter] quotes explain the reasons why Cristiano doesn't have more Ballons d'Or," Portuguese great Paulo Futre said on Tuesday. "The trophy is a farce - if I had any doubts before then they are all gone now."

Ronaldo feels he deserved to win the Ballon d'Or last year after leading Madrid to La Liga in 2011-12 and believes the Fifa hierarchy have lobbied for Messi to claim the prestigious prize in recent years. The Portuguese is also concerned that quotes like Blatter's on Friday will serve to tarnish an image he has worked hard to improve over the last few seasons.

Blatter's comments were made on the eve of the Clasico clash between Barca and Madrid on Saturday, when Ronaldo was angered at a penalty call which went against him following a shove by Javier Mascherano in the area. The 28-year-old complained to the referee at the time and after Barca's second strike in the 2-1 win at Camp Nou, but his remarks fell on deaf ears. After the match, team-mate Sergio Ramos told reporters: "It's always the same here."

Ramos, like many of Madrid's players and former boss Jose Mourinho, believes Barcelona receive preferential treatment in Clasico clashes both in La Liga and in Europe - particularly at Camp Nou - and Ronaldo was alluding to something similar in his reply to Blatter.

However, the timing of Madrid's response to the Blatter quotes, has also allowed the capital club to move away from criticism of their poor performance in the Clasico, pressure on Ancelotti, Florentino Perez and the disappointing displays of summer signing Gareth Bale.

Barcelona, incidentally, also feel they should have been awarded a penalty in the Clasico on Saturday for a Pepe challenge on Cesc Fabregas.

Fifa have published Blatter's letter of apology to Madrid on their official website and refused to comment further on Wednesday.

The World Bank has ranked Nigeria 147th among the best places for doing business. It also ranked the country as the 122nd for best countries to start a business.
The report released, yesterday, said Nigeria’s low ranking is mainly caused by electricity problems, where the country is ranked 185th out of 189 countries evaluated. The first African country on the list is Rwanda, ranked  32nd.
The report said in Africa, 66 per cent of countries enacted at least one reform last year, against 33 per cent  in 2005, adding that nine African countries make up the top 20 most improved in terms of business regulations since 2009: Benin, Burundi, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
The report said economies are ranked on their ease of doing business, from 1 – 189. A high ranking on the ease of doing business index means the regulatory environment is more conducive to the starting and operation of a local firm.

MADRID (AFP) – Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has responded angrily to a video of FIFA president Sepp Blatter imitating him and describing him as a “commander on the field.”

Speaking at an event at Oxford University last week, Blatter said he preferred four-time World Player of the Year Lionel Messi to Ronaldo, who he claimed spends more money on his hairstyle than the Argentine.
Ronaldo has finished second to Messi in three of the last four years in the voting for the Ballon d’Or, although the Portuguese did win the award whilst still at Manchester United in 2008.

And both men were once again selected in the shortlist of 23 for this year’s award which was released on Tuesday.
“This video shows clearly the respect and consideration that FIFA has for me, for my club and my country,” Ronaldo said on his official Facebook page.
“Much is explained now. I wish Mr. Blatter health and a long life, with the certainty that he will continue to witness, as he deserves, the successes of his favourite teams and players.”
The comments also enraged Ronaldo’s club and country as both Real Madrid and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) sent letters to FIFA to complain about Blatter’s conduct.
However, in a reply to Madrid, published on the club’s website, Blatter defended his comments and said he believes Ronaldo is on a par with Messi as a player.
“In response to a question about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the moderator asked me to choose between one of the two and, in this moment having commented that Messi is the type of son all mothers would like to have, I ended up saying his name.
“However, I want to make it clear that for me Cristiano Ronaldo is at the same level as Messi and that they are both exceptional players, each one in their own way.
“It was never my intention to upset or show a lack of respect towards Real Madrid, one of their players or their fans.”
Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti said the comments lacked respect for a player he described as a “great professional”.
“It seems to me like a lack of respect,” remarked the Italian.
“I haven’t spoken with Cristiano about it. Today he trained very well as he always does.
“He shows every day that he is a great player. He is serious, professional and respects everyone.”
And a statement on behalf of FPF president Fernando Gomes on the federation’s website was even more damming of Blatter’s behaviour.
“I can’t, in any way, agree with the position expressed by the person who leads world football in his comments about the national team and about someone who is a symbol of Portuguese football,” he said.
“Moreover, they seem unfit and inappropriate and clearly show a lack of respect for Cristiano Ronaldo and for Portugal.
“We learned today that Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the nominees for the Ballon d’Or, it does not seem appropriate or adequate that the president of FIFA makes comments saying which player he prefers between one or other.”

Man Cuts His Own Manhood, Forgets To Take It To Hospital To Sew Back On [PHOTOS]


Yang Hu was left in agony after severing his manhood from his body, and decided to cycle to the hospital to have it re-attached to his body.


But rather than prep him for immediate surgery, doctors told him to get on his bike again and go home because he forgot to bring it with him.

Yang, from Jiaxing, in Zhejiang province, east China, eventually rode home to pick up his man-hood but doctors hit him with yet more bad news – it had been without blood for too long and was therefore impossible to re-attach.

The 26-year-old was depressed at his single life since he moved to the city and began long hours at a clothing factory, according to pals.

His depression grew so bad that he cut off his man-hood in a sudden act of haste, believing it would stop him thinking about finding a lover.

Yang’s pals have now blasted the doctors at the hospital for not providing an ambulance for him to go home and collect his man-hood.

They said that his private parts could have been saved if he hadn’t had to cycle back, taking up valuable time.



Stuart Frain was seconds away from death when he accidentally cut off his arm

Last year retired fireman Stuart Frain accidentally hacked off his arm using a circular saw.

He picked up the limb – whcih was barely hanging on to the rest of his body, and ran hundreds of yards with it before he finally managed to get help.

He just managed to get to hospital in time for the arm to be re-attached to his body.

Mr Frain said at the time: “Because it’s quite secluded where I live I ran for help holding the arm.

“When I arrived at hospital they said that I’d probably only been about 90 seconds away from death.”

So there's a press statement from Edo State government denying hosting BBA winner, Dillish, last weekend. Well, they kinda have a point...they can say the government didn't host her, but Governor Adams Oshiomhole hosted her...and that's fact! She wasn't hosted at the government house, but the governor's private house in Edo state. Dillish and a few other girls were there on Saturday October 19th (for those wondering why she didn't make an appearance at Selly's party in Abuja that day) and I have the low down of everything that went down but I will leave all that out because after all said and done, Gov Oshimhole is a single man. I can also tell you one thing for free, Dillish gave a condition for accepting the invitation..she would only pay a courtesy visit and nothing more. All parties agreed!

EDO STATE GOVERNMENT DID NOT HOST BBA’S DILLISH.
Our attention has been drawn to a news report in Daily Independent of Friday, October 25, 2013, where one Mr. Eddie Iroh was quoted as expressing displeasure on a rumoured hosting of Dillish, the winner of Big Brother Africa. In the said report, Eddie Iroh was said to have “condemned the Governor for spending state’s funds so recklessly”.

The report added that “ the likes of Governors Oshiomhole, Fashola and Dickson who are in the habit of dipping their hands into public funds on such ventures should have known that in civilized climes, such celebrations were funded from the Governors’pockets and not public funds”. How libelous!

From the above, it is obvious that Mr. Eddie Iroh is suffering from brain wave. First, it would have been a thing of interest for Edo State Government to host the said BBA winner, Dillish, to justify her well-advertised declaration in the BBA House that Edo State people are very hospitable. That in itself was a global endorsement that is purely priceless. Again, if Dillish would agree, as a BBA ambassador, Edo State Government would be willing to host her in future to prove to cynics and naysayers like Eddie Iroh that Edo State is indeed, not only hospitable, but also a safe haven for those who intend to do legitimate business in the State. It will be a departure from orchestrated and concocted stories often peddled by jobless people like Eddie Iroh, who rather than devote their old age to reflect on their absurdities when they called the shots, have now taken to the cyber space for surfing cheap gossip, chit-chat and unfounded allegations.

To the best of our knowledge, Edo State did not host Dillish in whatever material particular. This could be verified from the Governor’s daily routines which are usually available for public consumption and can be confirmed from the Protocol Department of the Governor’s Office or Government House. Mr. Eddie Iroh’s comment is pure hallucination. Eddie Iroh’s story is an open sore that is festered with several incongruities, inanities, ambiguities and failing memory. He should provide evidence to show that Governor Oshiomhole dips his hands into public funds to host his private visitors or simply keep his mouth shut. We have gone past the age of Eddie Iroh, an age of those men of yesterday, who abused public institutions they presided over, to fest their nest at the expense of tax payers’ money. In Edo State, we are not only accountable to the people; we have also earned their respect and trust.

LONDON – Fernando Torres exploited a 90th-minute horror show from Manchester City to earn Chelsea a 2-1 win on Sunday that sent them up to second place in the Premier League.
City looked on course for a draw at Stamford Bridge after a Sergio Aguero thunderbolt cancelled out Andre Schurrle’s opener, only for Torres to pounce at the death after a mix-up between Matija Nastasic and Joe Hart.

It was the latest in a series of blunders by England goalkeeper Hart, who came to the edge of his area but did not clam the ball, and he could be seen venting his disbelief as Torres wheeled away to celebrate.
Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea have now won five consecutive games in all competitions and trail leaders Arsenal by just two points.
Meanwhile, City manager Manuel Pellegrini, who was succeeded by Mourinho at Real Madrid, saw his side finish the weekend down in seventh place, four points below Chelsea and six shy of Arsenal.
In the continued absence of injured City captain Vincent Kompany, Martin Demichelis was handed his debut at centre-back, while Aguero was deployed as a lone striker in a cautious 4-2-3-1 system.
Chelsea recalled Ashley Cole at left-back, in the only change to the team that won 3-0 at Schalke in the Champions League in mid-week.
Mourinho wore a broad smile as he settled into the dug-out and his side started positively, with Gary Cahill volleying over from a deep Oscar cross and Torres heading straight at Hart.

City’s extra man in midfield enabled them to establish a foothold in the game, however, and they saw Samir Nasri drill narrowly wide before Aguero poked a shot at Petr Cech after wriggling between a pair of defenders.
It was attritional fare, but in the 29th minute Torres found himself with only Hart to beat from Ramires’s pass, only to hook an ugly half-volley high over the bar from just 10 yards out.
Gael Clichy threatened to punish the Spaniard by firing a cross across Chelsea’s goal moments later, but Torres was quick to atone.
In the 33th minute, he outpaced Clichy with a burst of acceleration down the right flank and then squared the ball for Schurrle to steer in his first Chelsea goal from close range.
Encouraged, Torres almost extended the hosts’ lead four minutes later, but after slipping away from Demichelis, he saw his right-foot curler come back off the angle of post and bar.
Aguero stung Cech’s gloves shortly before the interval, while Yaya Toure headed over, but although Chelsea reached half-time with their lead intact, it took the visitors only four minutes to equalise after the break.
Aguero seemed to pose only a marginal threat as he scampered in behind the Chelsea defence to collect Nasri’s pass, but he surprised Cech with a ferocious first-time shot that fizzed into the top-left corner.
It was his fifth goal in three games, and Cech did not even see it.
There were chances for both sides from set-pieces — Garcia heading straight at Cech, Hart saving from Torres and John Terry volleying over — before Cech had to use his feet to thwart David Silva.
Mourinho sent on John Mikel Obi and Willian for the final 25 minutes, while Pellegrini turned to Jesus Navas.
Aguero came close to claiming a second with a delicate chip that floated just wide, but instead it was Torres who struck the decisive blow thanks to a calamitous defensive blunder.
Hart came out to field Willian’s aimless pass, only for centre-back Nastasic to head the ball past him, and Torres outpaced Demichelis to stab home and send Mourinho springing jubilantly from the bench. (AFP)

Chris Brown was arrested in Washington D.C. this morning for FELONY assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel ... TMZ has learned.Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... at around 4:30 AM Brown got into an argument with a man outside
the W Hotel on K Street and allegedly punched him once in the face.  We're told the alleged victim never threw a punch.  The alleged victim tells TMZ ... he and a friend were hanging out at the W when they saw 2 women about to take a picture with Brown.  The victim -- who says he's not a Chris Brown fan -- says he and his buddy photo bombed the 2 women and Chris went nuts, punching him in the face and BREAKING HIS NOSE.  He went to the hospital and says he may need surgery as early as tomorrow.  Law enforcement sources and the alleged victim tell TMZ ... before striking the man, Chris said, "I'm not into this gay s**t, I'm into boxing."  After Chris punched the man, the fight was taken to the ground.Sources connected with Chris tell TMZ ... the alleged victim is full of BS.  He was NOT trying to take a pic with Chris ... he was trying to get on Chris' tour bus, and Brown was simply trying to stop a trespass.  The sources say before the incident the 2 girls tried to get on the bus but they were stopped, and that's when the victim and his friend made their move.Law enforcement sources say Chris did not appear to be under the influence of anything.Chris and his bodyguard -- who was also arrested -- will stay in jail today.  Under DC law Brown can't get bail so he'll appear before a magistrate Monday, and until then he'll stay behind bars.  The alleged victim tells TMZ he doesn't understand why Brown was "so homophobic" to hurl such a slur.  And get this ... the victim says he would have accepted an apology at the scene, but now he will absolutely press charges -- and he's already hired a lawyer.Brown is still on probation in the Rihanna beating case and this could be grounds for violating his probation -- which means he could be sentenced to prison for nearly 4 years ... worst case scenario for him.Before the incident, Chris had been hosting a party at the nearby Park and 14th nightclub.Karrueche just trashed Chris on Twitter ...

N5.8m up for grabs at Lagos Int’l Swimming Classic
In continuation of the series of events lined up for the Lagos Sports Classics, the Main Organising Committee (MOC) has staked over N5.8milion for the four-day Lagos International Swimming Classics.
The swimming classics is expected to commence on November 7 to 10 at Teslim Balogun Stadium with athletes competing in the open and schools categories.
According to the Chairman of MOC, Wahid Oshodi, the classics is being organized to expose athletes to international standard and also to attract top athletes to the tournament.
“The swimming classics is also one of the series of events line up for the Lagos Sports Classics and we hope to stage another world class event just we had done during the table tennis and chess tournaments,” he said.
Over 300 swimmers are expected to jostle for honours at the championship

AKURE— DETECTIVES in Ondo State have rescued a two and half years old boy, Modupeoluwa Saka, who was kidnapped by his uncle, Taju Ayuba, at Ijebu-Owo, Owo Local Government Area of the state.

Police spokesman, Wole Ogodo, said the operatives of the State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, rescued the victim from the kidnappers’ hideout after five days in their den. He said no ransom was paid.
The boy was said to have been tied to a chair in an uncompleted building along a road that leads to a popular private university in the town, when he was rescued.
Ondo State Police Command has sent its men to search for and arrest the principal suspect, Ayuba, who was said to be on the run.
Two of the kidnap suspects, Ganiyu Oseni (29) of 43, Oke-Ijebu Owo and Oderinde Joshua (18) of Owaluwa Street, Owo, have been arrested by detectives.
During interrogation, the two suspects reportedly fingered the victim’s uncle (Taju) as the person that masterminded the kidnap.
Father of the victim, Hassan Saka, who is a proprietor of a popular school in Ijebu-Owo, is half-brother to the suspect.
Police source said that the three suspects invaded the residence of the victim’s father at about 9p.m., stole N50,000 and also forcefully took the victim from the mother.
The kidnappers escaped on a motorcycle and after some hours put a call across to the victim’s father, requesting for N4.5 million as ransom to release Amos.
The case was said to have been reported to SARS and the operatives swung into action.
Vanguard gathered that during investigation, a prime suspect, Oderinde, who was feeding the victim at their hideout, was arrested.
Ogodo said Oseni and Oderinde confessed that they kidnapped the victim in the presence of the mother at gunpoint and collected her money.
